Frequently asked questions
Bathroom installation in Essex: your questions answered
How long does a bathroom installation take?
A straightforward like-for-like family bathroom is typically around a week. Moving the soil connection, re-boarding walls, changing the layout or adding underfloor heating adds time. We give you a realistic day-by-day outline in the quote rather than an optimistic headline figure.
Do you do everything, or do I need other trades?
We manage the whole job — strip out, plumbing, waste and soil alterations, tiling, flooring and finishing, with electrical work carried out by a qualified electrician where needed. You deal with one team rather than coordinating four.
Can you fit a wet room?
Yes. The critical parts are continuous tanking behind the tiling, a correct and even fall to the drain across the whole floor, and a waste with enough capacity. Get any of those wrong and it leaks into the structure invisibly, which is why we would rather quote properly than cheaply.
Will my hot water system cope with a new shower?
That depends on the system and your incoming mains flow rate, which we measure before designing anything. A gravity-fed system will disappoint a modern shower; a combi may struggle if two outlets run at once. We tell you before you buy the shower, not after.
Can you work in a small or awkward space?
Yes, and a lot of our work is exactly that — compact bathrooms in terraces, en-suites carved out of bedrooms, and cloakrooms under stairs. Space constraints affect the layout and the waste route, both of which we plan up front.
Do I need to buy the suite myself?
You can do either. Many customers choose their own suite and we fit it; others prefer us to supply everything. We are happy to advise on what will actually last, particularly with shower valves and taps, where the cheap options fail early in our hard water.
