How we decided which areas to cover in Essex
Two things: travel time from South Ockendon, and whether we know the housing well enough to be useful on arrival. Those go together more than you would think.
Thurrock and the Havering border are our core. From there the A13 and A127 give us reasonable access to the towns along the south of the county, and the A12 takes us up to Chelmsford. Anything much beyond that and we would be charging you for our windscreen time.
Knowing the area matters just as much. A Victorian terrace in Grays, a 1950s estate house in Corringham and a new build in Chelmsford fail in completely different ways. Having worked on all three for years, we usually have a good idea what we are looking at before we open anything up.
What to expect when you call
We will ask what the problem is, what you have already tried and roughly where you are. That tells us whether this is urgent, whether it needs a camera, and what to bring.
You will get a price or a rate before we set off, not afterwards. For planned work we come and look first, then quote a fixed figure. For call outs we tell you the hourly rate and any out-of-hours uplift on the phone.
If we think the job is not worth doing, or that somebody else is better placed to do it, we will say so. That has cost us work occasionally and it is why most of our jobs still come from recommendations.

Not sure if we cover you? Ask us
We cover 20 towns across Essex and the London border as standard, and we will happily travel further for larger drainage and bathroom work.
Call 07497 377 123 and tell us your postcode — we will give you a straight yes or no, not a sales pitch.
